The members of the Trade Association of Gallery Owners of Tehran, following the second round of elections for the Board of Directors held at the end of Shahrivar 1400 (September 2021), gathered for a meeting on 18th of Bahman 1400 (February 7, 2022) at Khaneye Karman from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In this meeting, Ms. Parisa Pehlvan, as the Chair of the Board of Directors, presented a six-month performance report of the second Board of Directors to the attendees. A copy of this report, along with sample contracts for gallery owners (prepared in consultation with the Association’s lawyer, Mr. Abdolmaleki), membership cards, and membership certificates for the members were handed out.
Additionally, Ms. Hengameh Ma’mari, Vice President of the Association, provided details about the possibility of holding an exhibition in October 2022 with the theme “Tehran”, in collaboration with the Association and galleries in London. All members were invited to send details of their works and artists via the Association’s WhatsApp if they were interested.
Following that, Mr. Amrollah Farhadi was invited to speak about the importance, role, and function of associations, drawing on his experience with other trade associations.
Mr. Ehsan Lajvardi, the Secretary of the Association, spoke about the need to send a letter to the municipality, the importance of the public relations working group, and discussed the rise in costs for the upcoming year and the financial challenges facing the Association. Based on the majority decision of those present, an annual fee of 5 million tomans was set for the Association’s members (membership fee and contribution to the development of the Association’s activities). This amount was agreed upon during the first General Assembly of 2022, in the presence of a Ministry of Labor representative, to be formally approved and registered.
It was also announced that, in collaboration with Ms. Aliha, the Association’s social media network would now be used to announce the activities of its members.
In addition to the Association members, galleries from other parts of Tehran were invited to attend this session. The list of all attendees is as follows:
